- ECSLaunch - Written in 1995 by Alastair M. Robinson
-
- ECSLaunch is a small (824 bytes) utility which will help AGA Amiga and Multiscan
- monitor users run software which screws up when run from a DblNTSC/DblPAL
- workbench. It requires a minimum of Kickstart 2.04 to run, and may help ECS
- users who use Multiscan/productivity screen modes.

-
- ECSLaunch is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. The author accepts
- no responsibility for damages, however caused, arising from the use of this
- program, or supporting scripts.
- It is released as FreeWare. This means that you may copy it and give
- it to anyone you like, but please keep all the files together.
- Just copy the whole ECSLaunch Drawer!
-
- The supplied install script copies the ECSLaunch executable to your C:
- directory. From then on, it is used as follows:
-
- ECSLaunch <command line>,
- where <command line> is anything you could type into a shell.
-
- As an example, take the Jobbo_Spaceballs demo on AUI superdisk 64:
- CD <demo directory>
- Jobbo_Spaceballs
-
- If the workbench screen is anything other than NTSC or PAL, this will produce a
- severly corrupted display, and crash the machine.
-
- If instead the following is used:
-
- CD <demo directory>
- ECSLaunch Jobbo_Spaceballs
-
- the demo works without a hitch.
-
- The best way to use ECSLaunch is probably to set up scripts to be run via IconX
- which in turn run the required programs. A simple script is included to do
- this. It puts a script with an icon into the ram disk. This will normally have
- to be placed in the same directory as the program to be run, if the said program
- needs to load any data files.
-
- Currently, ECSLaunch cannot help AMOS 1.3, or any program compiled from the
- original AMOS compiler. These appear skewed on screen, for some reason. Amos
- pro works fine though, even without ECSLaunch.
